A keeperSeptember 3, 2010 kdoug This book was recommended by my anatomy professor. Thinking it might be helpful for gross anatomy lab, I bought it here on amazon rather than for a heftier price at the school bookstore. It arrived very quickly and is in brand new condition. After going through it, I plan on keeping it for reference through the rest of my undergraduate studies as well as med school. It's very well organized and helpful to see so many different angles of each muscle, bone, etc. Great find!
A gold standard for learning anatomy but for serious learners of anatomy you need Acland Anatomy DVDAugust 25, 2010 DrLee(Ann Arbor, MI) Netter's is one of the gold standards when it comes to anatomy. The detail and pictures are phenomenal. I used these to learn anatomy in medical school, but I have to say that Rohen and Acland DVD are the other resources you have to have to learn anatomy in an efficient manner. There are too many anatomy teachers who hand you a list and have you look for the structures on the cadavers, but using Rohen and Acland DVD help in identifying and learning anatomy. The Acland DVD set of 6 DVDs point out the sections on real sections and show you how they correspondingly function with the bones, muscles and nerves.
3rd edition still greatAugust 14, 2010 6achill 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm using this 3rd edition for my medical anatomy course. So far it has all the images of the 5th or whatever's current edition. The structures in this atlas are colorful and easy to trace/pick out when I'm studying. I also find it effective to use this along side my older edition Keith Moore. This atlas provides great supplement images to the text. My professor uses some of these images for his exams, so for us it's a must have!...Highly recommended, not to mention the $70.00 I saved buying this one.
Great reference bookAugust 8, 2010 JoAnn 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I saw my physical therapist refer to an earlier edition of this book, I felt I had to have it as a reference. The illustrations are generally very detailed and clear, using color to clarify muscles, tendons, nerves, etc. It's the best reference book on anatomy that I have seen.
Atlas of Human Anatomy: with Student Consult Access (Netter Basic Science)July 24, 2010 DanielleE The book is great but it is nice to supplement it with real cadaver images
